Md. Dewan Abu Ehsan

Dewan Abu Ehsan obtained his Masters in Business Administration from International Islamic University, Chittagong and have more than 37 years’ experience both as programme management and M&E activities in different international organizations. He is senior development professional having proven expertise on monitoring and evaluation, thematic research, proposal writing, problem analysis for effective solution. He and successfully managed the M&E activities while working with donors such as USAID, World Bank, UNDP, EU, FAO, Winrock International, ACDI/VOCA and Hifab International-AB on a wide range of social safety, food security for ultra-poor and poverty reduction projects. The experience encompasses Performance Analysis, Research, Monitoring & Evaluation, Theory Based Evaluation, Evidence & Learning Systems, Evidence and Learning Uptake Qualitative and Quantitative MEL, Adaptive Management, Adaptive Management MEL, VFM, Portfolio MEL, Quality Assurance, MEL/Research. Have proven track record on programme designing, management, planning, monitoring, evaluation and budgeting within the sectors of food security and livelihood, climate change adaptation, water and sanitation, community health and nutrition, women empowerment, child labour and worker’s right, modern slavery, human trafficking, sex trafficking, VAWG, issues related to disabilities and education.

He has been working to provide expert services as Team Leader, Co-team Leader and/or Team Members for more than 50 baseline studies, mid-term, end line evaluation and impact studies of different UN agencies, INGOs and NGOs including livelihood improvement, food security, water & sanitation, health & nutrition, child labour and hazardous work of children, inclusion of disabled people in livelihood and rehabilitation of PWDs, child rights, women empowerment, and education for out of schools.

Currently working with IMC Worldwide and University of Portsmouth, the UK on Modern Slavery and Political Economy Analysis to understand what is happening at each level of society (individual, family, community, state, national and international).
